Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Implementation, installation, programming troubleshooting and integration of structured cabling and premise security solutions (CCTV, alarms, access controls) for commercial customers.
• Provide feedback to both Project Estimators and Project Managers to ensure continuous improvement in project delivery.
• Provide in-house training for the ongoing development of your team. 
• Providing ongoing work performance feedback and identifying areas for improvement/training.
• Ensure jobs are completed to the quality and safety specifications required, including preparing formal QC reports.
• Ensure any workplace incidents are reported, and proper health & safety paperwork is completed.
• Train customers to use their equipment and provide technical service support (both remotely and on-site).

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting CCTV, alarm systems and access controls.
• Corporate certification in Kantech and ExacqVision is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of new legacy alarm systems such as DSC (Maxsys, PowerSeries, NEO, IQ), Honeywell and Paradox are considered an asset.
• Knowledge of video surveillance products such as Axis, ExacqVision, and Hanwha is considered an asset.
• Ability to lead jobs.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Technical Support Manager to join our Managed IT Solutions division to lead our support teams and function as the operations manager.  Supporting a variety of customer environments, functioning as an escalation point for complex issues; you will have a hand in everything from infrastructure design cloud solutions, and security to scripting and documentation, while mentoring teammates and aligning technology to client goals.

What You will Do

•         Design, implement & support infrastructure: servers, virtualization (VMware/HyperV), and cloud (Azure, AWS).

•         Build & support cloud/hosted environments: Microsoft 365/O365, Exchange (2013+), SharePoint, SQL, Azure AD/Entra.

•         Administer core Microsoft services: Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server (2012+), Windows 10/11.

•         Secure remote access & networking: Configure VPNs, VLANs, traffic policies, and enterprise security system solutions (Fortinet/Checkpoint or similar).

•         Own the full lifecycle: Research, diagnosis, troubleshoot, and resolve; document thoroughly; escalate appropriately.

•         Automate & document: Use PowerShell (and VBScript/Batch/SQL), maintain network/DR documentation, standards, and SOPs.

•         Manage platforms & tools: Maintain RMM/PSA systems (e.g., ConnectWise) and keep project/ticket documentation up to date.

•         Hardware & backup: Work with server-grade hardware, SAN/NAS storage, PDUs, and backup solutions (local/online).

•         Security first: Apply current security best practices, EDR/AV, patching, and policy enforcement.

•         Coach & collaborate: Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a positive, learning-focused team culture.

•         Stay current: Track industry trends and recommend improvements.

What You Bring

•         Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or equivalent experience.

•         5+ years in IT support/technical support/engineering with Tier 3 responsibilities.

•         Technical strengths across Microsoft stack, virtualization, networking, cloud platforms, scripting, and hardware.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Safe operation of bucket trucks and associated tools
• Loading and unloading reels on cable trailers and line trucks
• Outside Plant (OSP) installation of strand, coax, fiber, and equipment, both aerial and underground
• Proper use of lashing equipment and other telecommunication tools
• Working in confined spaces, heights, and in all weather conditions
• Ability to read and understand maps and designs
• Troubleshoot and test equipment when necessary
• Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

•  3-10 years related experience working within Telecommunications or Outside Plant Construction or a combination of relevant education and experience is an asset
• Ability to climb utility poles or have experience with ladders and boom-lifts
• Working knowledge of construction or telecom documents, drawings, specifications
• Great attitude and the ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with clients and colleagues
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, on-call occasionally and in all types of weather while adhering to company safety policies and wearing the required PPE required for the task.
• Ability to operate and maintain company vehicles safely, air brake endorsement may be required
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including but not limited to carrying heavy equipment, ladders, tools, on a regular basis
• Successful completion of a criminal background check
